Doors Galore in Gliderol Victoria!

Whether it's one door or 100 doors, Gliderol VIctoria can do the job!

Recently the team in Victoria were called upon to measure, detail, manufacture and install over 1000 storage doors for the new storage complex in Port Melbourne of Kennard's Self Storage.

"We had to work to very exacting time frames as Kennards wanted to open the complex as early as possible, and this meant our entire sales team being on site to ensure the measurements were transformed to manufacturing on time" stated Steve Dockrey. "Our Installation team did a fantastic job under great difficulty working around all the other trades on site, but they finished the job on time".

Gliderol Victoria are major suppliers, as are our other state operations, to the growing self-storage market. The advantage in dealing with Gliderol is we are located in all capital cities of Australia and can coordinate projects between branch offices with total ease and reliability.

Gliderol Victoria Wins Metricon Homes

Victoria's largest single home builder, Metricon Homes and Gliderol Victoria formed a formal business relationship recently.

Metricon Homes build a variety of homes covering the second and third home buyer markets throughout metropolitan Melbourne, Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula and provincial areas of Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton. Albury and Traralgon are commencing shortly.

"We carried out a very exhaustive selection process and in the end we believed that Gliderol offered Metricon Homes the best service and value for our business.

We were very impressed with their efforts, particularly the training of our construction staff and the ease in which we do business" states Jeff Hawkins, Purchasing and Special Projects Manager, The Metricon Group.

NSW Developments

NSW has recently seen the development of wine storage facilities in Sydney, which has been incorporated into existing self-storage complexes that are operated by Kennards Hire.

Gliderol are a preferred supplier to Total Constructions who carry out construction work for the Kennards Hire and Self Storage Group of Companies. Gliderol have successfully completed a new stage at Kennards Self-Storage facility located at Camperdown in Sydney.

The new stage caters exclusively for wine storage and generates in excess of $250,000 of storage income per annum. This section of the complex is a deluxe version of existing self-storage units, complete with timber paneling and carpeted floors for the sole purpose of long term storage of wine products.

A spokesperson for Kennards Self Storage commented that up to 50,000 bottles of vintage wine is stored under lock and key at the Camperdown complex.

Gliderol NSW continues to be a major supplier of self-storage roller doors with continuing sales to most of the major unit developers and builders throughout NSW.

Clipsal 500 Success

24 Guests from all over the country enjoyed another great weekend at the Clipsal 500 in March. On Friday Builders and Distributors alike had the opportunity to sample one of Australia's premier golf courses -- Kooyonga Golf Club. People couldn't speak highly enough of the fantastic course condition, it was a shame the golf scores didn't do it credit. A little bloke from Canberra, Marcus Sheridan -- Bryan Sheridan Garage Doors ACT did however manage to string together a fine individual round to take out the inaugural Gliderol Cup, he was closely followed by our own General Manager -- Ben Lumbers whom failed to pip him at

the post. The team event was comfortably won by the Henley Homes composite consisting of Doug Stevens -- Henley SA, Paul Roots -- Plantation Homes QLD, Peter Carroll -- Plantation Homes QLD and our own Barry Walton -- Gliderol SA.

A group dinner was enjoyed Friday night a one of Adelaide's most renowned Hotels -- The Edinburgh Hotel -- Mitcham. It was here that several people had the opportunity to sample one of Australia's best eating fish the SA King George Whiting and judging from the remarks after the meal they certainly were not disappointed.

For Saturday and Sunday it was of to the racetrack whereby we witnessed a dominant display of driving by Marcus Ambrose in a Ford Falcon. Guests enjoyed the fantastic vantage point for viewing the race from the Gliderol Pit and stand Straight Suite and each race was not without its share of spills and thrills.

All in all it was a fantastic weekend for those involved and credit must go the event organisers for making the Clipsal 500 one of, the if not the premier motor racing event in Australia.

Looking toward a strong 2005

Once again Gliderol has enjoyed a very successful year with increased sales across all states. Panelglide sectional overhead door and operator sales continue to grow. Trends in the new housing market has seen a movement away from standard roller doors to the front of the home which are now being replaced by Panelglide doors. Roller door sales are still strong, however with a large proportion of doors required for the ever-expanding storage and shed markets.

Our success can largely be attributed to the excellent efforts from all our state managers, sales, administration and factory personnel whom all should be commended for the sustained growth of the Company. The teamwork and unity that has developed throughout the country has greatly assisted in promoting the brand and profile of Gliderol.

With new products launched in recent times such as the Broadline commercial roller door, the Rolamatic GRII retrofit roller door operator, Timbaglide sectional overhead door and Gliderol's commercial interlocking slat shutter the, Company provides to all our customers, distributors and builders a complete package. No longer just a residential roller door and operator company Gliderol is now able to service capably all segments of the garage door market.

Gliderol is soon to release a new range of aluminum sectional overhead doors that will be suitable for the higher end residential designer door market as well as commercial applications. These doors will be available in a wide range of claddings. Timber Slats, Mesh Grills,

Acrylic, Polycarbonate or Danpolan. The Company expects these products to perform well in the dynamic contemporary housing market.

Our loyal distributors must also be congratulated in taking Gliderol to far reaching areas of Australia. The loyalty and support shown by our distributors is paramount to the

ongoing expansion of the Company. The Company looks forward to working closely in the next year with distributors to nurture and mutually grow the respective businesses.

Looking towards 2005 we can see a softening in new housing that is evident in all states. Rising interest rates and a slowing economy, will obviously impact on the sales of doors to this market. However, on the positive side, we believe that over the past few years home owners have enjoyed a significant increase in their property value. This we believe will enable the renovation and additions market to remain strong. Homeowners will consider the advantage of value adding to their existing home without over capitalising. Whilst we do not expect enormous growth in sales in 2005 we are confident that with sustained and increased market share in new products and old, Gliderol will forge ahead in a more challenging garage door industry.
